Where it all began!
The history of it all is very important to where it is today. It took only three brothers to make and break this company. This page will explain what happened and how it was fixed.
It all began during the economic recession in 1949.
Three brothers- Jack, Phil and Walter- owned a small factory on Gold Mine Lane in Pettisville. Unfortunately, they coudn't find anyone interested
in leasing the building, so it sat empty for several years.(It sat with great dignity) Finally, the brothers fouund this great clothing company,a highly well known company, "Vogue", to open a new building in Pettisville.
A fashion clothing business that manufactures fabrics, clothing; gives advice, quizes, gossip, and more! To make sure the company would go through with the deal, the brothers offered
the clothing firm a fifteen year, rent-free lease on the building. There was one thing, however, one restriction. The company (Denim Maker, rep. of Vogue) had to hire poeple to work
im the business. Vogue replied that they had taken care of the job hiring part. However, they are still acceptingm and looking for the finest people, maybe they are looking for your name.
The New Buildings!
The new builind opened, and people from the Pettisville area were hired. The Denim Maker's main purpose was to show off all the latest designs by their representatives and manufacture
not only denim clothing, but all different typs of fabrics, styles, etc. to the specifications of Vogue Company . Denim Maker was then- and is now-Vogues's main customer.
After the fifteen year lease expired, the Denim Maker based company purchased the property and enlarged the manufacturing building. The company started out small and grew instantanaously.
It thrived in Pettisville where is started and grew out into branches. Right now the biggest selling, popular place in the United Sates is in New York, New York.
The denim Maker's business workers decided to form a union.
Work Labor!
It is not surprising that the emplyee's labor union has brought many demands to the bargaining table. The curent labor contracr end in July 2005.
Since there have been rumors of a possible strike-out by union worker, a manager is needed to negotiate with the union. A strike is a shutdown of the operstion of a business caused by the employees who refuse to work in an effort to force the employer
to pay better wages or improve working conditions. In this case they wanted better wages. In addition, the manger's duties will include hiring new emplyees, keeping banking and payroll records, and completing bills of lading. The manager also
alsowill be expected to handle daily transaction with other businesses.
Clothing!
Today trailers owned by the 18 Wheeler Truck Lines bring bales of fluffy Vogue cotton to Pettisville. Often these trailors are caried on Conrail by piggyback(or loaded on flatcars) with the best of care.
Bolts of denim and other fabric in a raindow of colors are shipped to and from The Denim Maker to the manufacturing firms across the country. Vogue Company buys in quantity from The Denim Maker and turns the soft,
white denim into every type of garment from fashionable painter's everall to evening attire. Vogue Company buys over ninety (90%) percent of the denim made by the Denim Maker. For years and many more years to come, Vogue
and many other companies have bought and sold many types of Vogue's clothing.
