The Nouveau children, Sonja and Pierre, grew up in a small own outside Paris, France. They enjoyed listening to their parents' stories about the American soldiers they had met during the war. When Sonja decide to study law, she chose o leave France and attend Yale University in the United States.
Sonja majored in economics and enjoyed her part-time work with an investment firm nearr the campus. Two years later, Pierre also came to the United States and enrolled in business and finance at Yale. After her graduation, Sonja's work at the investment firm became full-time. Later wen Pierre graduated and was looking for a job, he read a newspaper ad for an investment counselor in Glenview, Illinois. He was arranging for an interview when Sonja decided to change jobs. They decided to travel together to the Midwest for Pierre's interview and to visit relatives along the way. At a backyard barbecue with friends in Pettisville, Ohio, they met the president of the Pettisville Bank. They argreed to be interviewd by the bank's personnel manager for positions of investment conselors at the Pettisville Bank. The positions were offered to Sonja and Pierre, and they accepted them. After several years of working at Pettisville Bank, Sonja and Pierre decided to start their own business. Pierre was 27 years old and Sonja was 29 when they opened the Nouveau Investment Company on Wall Street in Pettisville. They offer eachof their clients an individualized portfolio (a list of an investor's stocks and bonds). It is important that clients be able to trust their investment counselors with their money. Sonja and Piere take pride in their high ethical standards. Business ethics are rules of right and wrong about how employees and employers behave in the workplace. |
