The Denim Maker begane during the recession of 1949. Three brothers named: Jack, Phil, and Steve owned a small factory in Pettisville. The brothers convinced a well-known Georgia textile firm to open a new factory in their town. The brothers felt strongly aout having a nw factory in town, so they offeed the company a 10 year rent free lease on the building. The only restriction was that the factory could only hire people from he town to work there. It then became The Denim Maker. The small factory thrived in Pettisville and after the 10 year lease was up, the Georgian based company bought the property. The workers then formed a union. After forming the union, The Denim Maker started their relationship with Mean Jeans Manufacturing Company. mean Jeans buys in quantity friom the Denim Maker and turns the soft, white denim into every type of garment from overalls to evening attire. Mean Jeans buys over 90% of the denim made by Denim Maker. The Denim Maker is a successful company with a great background.
