~ You need 4 yrs. of college to start off with

~ Then you have to get into Medical school for 4 yrs.

~ After that you have to to find a sutable residency position in a surgical program

~ To become a General Surgeon, there is 5 to 7 yrs. of training.(depending on wheather you like to do 1 or 2 in research)
